We are pleased to welcome Erica Loughrey to CCM! While you can find her professional bio in the team section of our website, here she shares more about her personal interests and journey.
I recently joined Colorado Capital Management and I am delighted to be a part of the team. I am new to Colorado, but I have already fallen in love with the sunny and beautiful state. I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, where a sense of adventure and a love of the outdoors seems to come naturally. I also enjoy playing music and volunteering for non-profit organizations and combined the two in support of the Covenant House in Anchorage which helps teens facing homelessness.
I moved to San Luis Obispo, CA to attend college at Cal Poly where I majored in business/finance and minored in psychology. I was actively involved in a wide range of activities including Women in Business, the Financial Management Association, where I served on the committee for diversity in finance. Additionally, I was a founding chapter member and director of the Delta Gamma sorority and was part of the Cheer and Stunt team (we even won a national title!).
When the pandemic upended my post-graduation travel plans, I went to work for an investment advisory firm back home in Anchorage and started a master’s degree program in financial planning online at Golden Gate University. I feel fortunate to have discovered early in life that this is the work I’m truly drawn to. I am passionate about helping others and excited to be working in a profession that empowers individuals to flourish financially.
I moved to Colorado earlier this year, somewhat spontaneously, drawn to the mountains and good weather. I have had an incredible time so far, spending as much time as I can outdoors and trying new activities. You can often find me skiing, hiking, paddle-boarding, mountain biking, camping, or practicing yoga in my free time. I also love traveling to exotic locales and have a long list of countries I would like to visit in the future. But for now I am excited to continue exploring my new home state and meeting so many great new people through both work and play.
